Scale & Reliability

Scale & Reliability

Sentinel Watch programs start as scoped pilots and grow to match your data requirements. The same methodology that delivers 50 observations in a single city scales to thousands of observations across multiple continents.

Program Scale

Every engagement begins with a pilot. Once quality and methodology are validated, programs can expand in three dimensions: more observers, more locations, longer duration.

Pilot

Defined scope, single geography, fixed timeline. Typically 2–6 weeks. Produces a representative dataset and a quality review before you decide whether to scale.

Regional Program

Expanded observer network across multiple cities or a defined region. Consistent taxonomy and quality controls applied uniformly across all locations.

Global Program

Multi-country deployments with jurisdiction-specific observer teams. Same structured output format and quality standards regardless of geography. Ongoing or periodic cadence based on your pipeline requirements.

Quality at Scale

Scaling a human observation program without degrading data quality is the core operational challenge. Sentinel Watch addresses this through structured controls at every layer of the program.

Taxonomy Consistency

Your classification schema is documented, versioned, and applied identically across all observers regardless of location. Briefing protocols ensure every observer working on your program uses the same definitions and boundary cases before they begin.

Inter-Rater Calibration

For programs with multiple observers covering the same event types, calibration checks are built into the workflow. Agreement rates are monitored and observers whose classifications diverge from the established standard are retrained or replaced.

Review Layer

Observation submissions pass through a review layer before entering your dataset. Edge cases, ambiguous classifications, and outliers are flagged and adjudicated before delivery. You receive clean data, not raw submissions.

Infrastructure Reliability

The platform underpinning Sentinel Watch observer operations runs on Google Cloud infrastructure, providing the reliability and scalability that enterprise programs require.

Observer App Availability

The observer-facing reporting application is available across device types and network conditions. Progressive web app architecture means observers can capture and queue observations even in low-connectivity environments, with automatic sync when connection is restored.

Data Pipeline Integrity

Observation data is timestamped and geolocated at capture, not at submission. This preserves the integrity of temporal and geographic metadata even when network conditions delay transmission. Your dataset reflects when and where events were observed, not when they were uploaded.

Client Platform Uptime

The enterprise client portal and MCP server connection at app.sentinel-watch.org runs on autoscaling cloud infrastructure. Program management, data access, and API integrations remain available regardless of observer activity volume.

Evolving Programs

Observation programs are not static. As your model develops, your taxonomy evolves. As your research progresses, you may need different event types, new geographies, or adjusted observer protocols. Sentinel Watch programs are designed to adapt without requiring a full restart.

  • Taxonomy updates — Event definitions and classification criteria can be updated between program phases. Observers are rebriefed before the updated taxonomy takes effect.
  • Geographic expansion — New regions can be added to an existing program without interrupting ongoing observation activity in current locations.
  • Volume adjustment — Observer count and observation frequency can be scaled up or down based on your pipeline needs and program budget.
  • Cadence flexibility — Programs can run continuously, in periodic bursts, or on a triggered basis — activated when your pipeline needs fresh data.
